Import your content into Feed.Us
Feed.Us is unique in the sense that we want to make it so you don't have to use Feed.Us to use Feed.Us? Make sense? I'll try to explain.
Obviously, you can compose an item directly into Feed.Us. But we'll also make it easy to import other items from other systems.
Here are the options:
1. Email - Feed.Us gives you a unique, somewhat secure (more on this here) email address. You can send an email to Feed.Us and it will add the text of your email as a post in Feed.Us.
Say you're on your blackberry and you want to add a "breaking news" item to your site - just send an email to Feed.Us
Or you've got a writer that enjoys Microsoft Outlook but doesn't want to bother learning Feed.us? Let them email a post.
2. RSS importing - use our RSS Feed import tool to import content from other blogs. Feed.Us will check your RSS feeds every 20 minutes for new items and then upload them.
Say you've got a writer who loves Blogger? Just "grab" her RSS feed and she can publih to Feed.Us.
RSS importing is also great for importing archives from other systems.
3. Metaweblog API - Many blog systems - like Movable Type and Wordpress - offer MetaweblogAPI support. You can publish to Feed.Us from other systems using Metaweblog.
Microsoft LiveWriter and GoogleDocs both support MetaWeblog. So now you can actually write an article in LiveWriter or in Google Docs and publish it to your site using Feed.Us and Metaweblog.
4. More: we're adding more import options all the time - soon to have importing from the major video services (like youtube).
