Use Google Docs with Feed.Us

Feed.Us has the ability to write posts on Feed.Us using Google Docs, Microsoft Live Writer and other software that uses the MetaweblogAPI.  (You can also use MetaweblogAPI to send posts to Feed.Us from other CMSes. More info later on.)

Before you start, check out these directions or the video below.  You'll need 2 URLs:

http://feed.us/Services/MetaWebLog.ashx

1. Access your Google Docs account (we suggest opening a separate account for your Feed.Us publishing).

2. Open an existing "Document" or create a new one.  (Currently it doesn't work with Presentations, Spreadsheets or Forms. We hope Google changes this).

3.   Click the "Share" button in the upper right of the document.

4. Click the link to setup your "Blog Settings" below the "post to blog" button.

5. A popup window should open.  Choose "My Own Server / Custom" on the first option.

6. Choose your API as "MetaWeblogAPI"

7. Enter this URL: http://feed.us/Services/MetaWebLog.ashx

8. Enter your Feed.Us username and password.

9. Give this account a name - you can fill in the "ID/Title" field with anything.

10. Check "Include document title" under "Options".

11. Click "OK" (or test).

12. See photo along the side here.
